After seeing the movie Midnight in Paris I was wondering what the Roaring 20s were like in our neck of the woods. I ran across these photos of the Attic Club, one of our small archival collections.
The Attic Club was formed by 13 artists and met in the top floor of the Times Building at 114 4th Street South. The club held exhibitions and social parties including costume balls and plays.
I love knowing that this sort of stuff was going on in the 20s and is still going on today in the Twin Cities. If someone had thought of the idea for FEAST a hundred years ago, would it still be happening now? I imagine if you looked closely enough at one of these photos, you might see Andy Sturdevant somewhere in the background. Same as it ever was.
